Noise metric | Description |
---|---|
Lden |
The day-evening-night level (Lden) is a noise indicator for overall annoyance based upon annual average A-weighted long-term sound over 24 hours, with a 5 dB(A) penalty for evening noise (19:00-23:00) and a 10 dB(A) penalty for night-time noise (23:00-07:00) |
Lday |
The daytime level (Lday) is a noise indicator based upon annual average A-weighted long-term sound over the daytime period (07:00-19:00) |
Leve |
The evening level (Leve) is a noise indicator based upon annual average A-weighted long-term sound over the evening period (19:00-23:00) |
Lnight |
The night level (Lnight) is a noise indicator for sleep disturbance based upon annual average A-weighted long-term sound over the night period (23:00-07:00) |
LAeq,16h |
The LAeq,16h metric represents the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound level over a 16-hour time period (07:00-23:00). It is the sound level of a steady state sound that has the same energy as a fluctuating sound over the same period |
LAeq,18h |
The LAeq,18h metric represents the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound level over an 18-hour time period (06:00-24:00). It is the sound level of a steady state sound that has the same energy as a fluctuating sound over the same period |
LAeq,6h |
The LAeq,6h metric represents the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound level over a 6-hour time period (24:00-06:00). It is the sound level of a steady state sound that has the same energy as a fluctuating sound over the same period |
